All teams have arrived in the city and installed in FIMO.
Throughout the day all the teams participating in the Rally Ferrol have been arriving in the city. Trucks, vans, trailers, motorhomes and the racing cars themselves have been gradually filling the FIMO Exhibition Center. This will be the nerve center of the event and will serve both the assistance area and the race management and the press room.
This year the entrance hall is decorated with the drawings of all the winners since 1970 (Carlos Arrojo) until 2018 (Pepe López) to commemorate the golden wedding of the rally. This is a unique opportunity for fans to see a large collection of cars, even if they are drawings, that have made the history of this rally.
During the afternoon, also at FIMO, the technical checks were carried out on all the teams before starting the competition tomorrow. At 10:00 o’clock on Friday, the shakedown (test section), which develops in the Esmelle area, will begin. That same section serves to dispute the Qualifying Section, in which the priority pilots will try to make the best possible time to be able to choose the starting position. The act in which the positions are chosen will take place at FIMO at 1:30 p.m. And at 2:00 p.m., the Suzuki team has called the media to report on its sports program.
The rally will give the start signal at Avenida de Esteiro at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. But an hour before there will be very interesting things to see in this area of the park closed. The representatives of the European Rally Tour will do a “show cooking” with several of the participating pilots at 16:30. And half an hour later they will offer a press conference to present all their novelties for 2020.
